The first thing I think about, when I hear the word AJAX1,
I think "ohh that is a soap product to clean the window or windshield (windscreen)".
But no, now it is another very useful "thing".

AJAX is an acronym for a couple of technologies that make it possible for developers to update a web page content at the control level without having to do a complete page refresh. In the article Pieter Siegers takes a look at how far Ajax has evolved today with respect to .NET. He will take three current popular Ajax frameworks for .NET development - Atlas, Anthem.NET and Ajax.NET Professional -, and look at various aspects of their installation and use in ASP.NET applications. Then he will compare all three frameworks and look at their capacity to make Ajax-like development for .NET simpler.
In part 2 of the article, he will continue the comparisons and produce a table that compares features for each of the frameworks.

En købmand var efterhånden blevet så sur sin nye lærling, som han ikke syntes solgte nok. Og da det en dag blev ham for meget, sagde han til lærlingen, at han skulle se godt efter, hvordan man fik en kunde til at købe endnu mere ved hjælp af lidt psykologi.
En dame kom kort efter ind i butikken og sagde til købmanden: - Go`dag. Jeg vil gerne have noget vaskepulver, da mine gardiner trænger så frygteligt til at blive vasket.
- Ja, så gerne, frue: Men nu hvor de alligevel har gardinerne nede, var det så ikke en god idé også at købe noget Ajax, så de kan pudse vinduerne imens?
Lærlingen slugte tricket råt, og da en ung pige kort efter kom ind i butikken, var han ikke sen til at følge trop.
- Go´dag. Jeg vil gerne have en pakke Tampax!
- Ja, så gerne. Og hvad med en flaske Ajax, så kan du pudse vinduer?
- Hvorfor i alverden skulle jeg dog det? ville den unge pige vide.
- Jo, nu du alligevel ikke kan bolle, kan du ligeså godt bruge tiden på at pudse vinduer.
